Ask a question

We tell you about implementing radio equipment for helipads, using the example of an implemented facility for the Federal State-Owned Company Research Institute Geodesy, Krasnoarmeysk, Moscow Region.

Modern helicopters, both imported and domestically produced, are in most cases richly equipped with various navigation and radio equipment that increase flight safety and ensure operation not only in daylight hours in simple weather conditions, but also in darkness hours in difficult weather conditions

Such flights require that the ground infrastructure of the helipads also include a set of ground-based Radiotechnical and Navigational aids

Also, this equipment is required to provide radio communication from the helipad to the aircraft.

How is radio equipment set up?
STAGE 1
We coordinated the main design solutions for radio equipment

We agreed on a set of works necessary for the installation of radio equipment that meets customer requirements.

Equipment typically includes:

  • Fixed and wearable radios for on-board radio communication, communication with aircraft, nearest airport.
  • Information broadcasting equipment for automatic broadcasting of current weather information at the helipad to airspace users.
  • Speech switching system for the organization of radio communication control.
  • Information recording and playback equipment for documenting information.

It's worth noting

At all stages of implementation of the flight support system, our company has cooperated with Firma NITA LLC, one of the leaders in the Russian market for manufacturing radio technical and navigational equipment.

The list of equipment produced by this company includes more than 50 models and titles, including:

  • ATIS/VOLMET AMETIST information broadcasting complex;
  • MEGAFON voice communication switching system;
  • Granit information recording and playback system;
  • AZN-V mode 4 PULSAR-N ground receiving station;
  • PULSAR on-board radio station;
  • 1090 ES Sonar ground receiving station.

The company also manufactures:

  • modular command and control centers (MCC);
  • mobile deployment command and control centers;
  • of the Command and Control Centre dispatcher consoles.

The company's own research and development and production capabilities allow it to provide comprehensive equipment for air traffic control points. Of particular note is AZN-B's own products, which are becoming increasingly in demand on the market, making it possible to perform instrument flight operations in daylight and darkness, including in difficult weather conditions. The accuracy of the data received by the onboard system allows performing only instrument-based landings in zero visibility conditions, thereby ensuring maximum utilization of the flight and technical capabilities of modern helicopters.

STAGE 2
We developed a project for the installation of radio equipment

We prepared and coordinated the equipment layout and foundation solutions with the customer.

As part of the works:

  • We have made equipment placement, developed equipment switching diagrams, cable line laying diagrams, solutions for foundation arrangement and reinforcement.
  • We created procurement specifications, bill of quantities.
STAGE 3
We supplied the equipment

Delivery time is 90 calendar days.

STAGE 4
We performed construction, installation and pre-commissioning works

The set of construction, installation and pre-commissioning works is usually 30 calendar days

STAGE 5
We performed equipment commissioning works

As part of the work

In accordance with the requirements of Order No. 1 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated January 18, 2005, Order No. 297 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated October 20, 2014 and SanPiN 2.1.3684-21:

  • We performed ground and flight checks of the equipment;
  • We developed a project for the placement of radio-electronic facilities;
  • The placement of radioelectronic facilities was approved by Rospotrebnadzor;
  • We produced registration of radioelectronic means in the Interregional Territorial Directorate of the Federal Agency for Air Transport;
  • We performed radiofrequency assignments at the Interregional Territorial Directorate of the Federal Agency for Air Transport.
STAGE 6
We commissioned the facility

In accordance with the requirements of Order No. 1 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated January 18, 2005

We trained the customer's personnel in the operation of radio equipment.

We created the executive documentation, successfully delivered the facility to the customer.
